Our JAMAICA mission trip – July 11-19, 2014
A team of twenty-six persons will be serving in Jamaica during this week.
We will be doing VBS, construction, and revivals. Our construction project will be breaking ground for a new pre-school building at Giblator. The pre-school has been in operation for twelve years and is greatly impacting the community. Their present building, the old church building, is termite-infested and beyond repair. Pray for us and about if God would have us make a donation toward this new building. It will take eight to ten trips (four to five years) for this building to be completed. We will also be sanding, staining, and clear-coating twenty-five new church pews that we built January.
(For more info, contact Rev. Claude Mathis, Associational Missionary).
Spiritual Spending Help 7-6 thru 7-27
The KOINONIA BIBLE CLASS is hosting a special Bible-Based Financial Class during July at 9:45 AM in the church Fellowship Hall. The class will be for Young Adults, Median Adults, & Senior Adults. It will be led by Rev. Davis Lacey and is open to everyone: church members, friends of the church, rich, poor, or in-between, come one, come all! This will be a PowerPoint Study. The topics covered will include Christian Budgeting, Personal Finance, 5 Principles of Money. Emphasis will be given to Biblical stewardship principles, improving credit ratings, avoiding insolvency, and financial recovery.
Dr. Keith Fordham, evangelist, hosted a revival meeting June 1st-4th at Bethel Baptist (Luthersville, GA). Seven adults and one youth came in response to the Lord's Holy Spirit during the preperation and the services. These mark the first Baptisms at the church in 3 years. Five were baptized in Bethel Baptist's outdoor spring-fed baptistery. The other three, for reasons of health, were baptized in a portable baptirestery provided by the Flint River Baptist Association.
Some folks thought that nothing spectacular could happen at a small church in rural Georgia; but, along with the Devil, they were wrong. Don't ever give up on the souls around you.
Music Appreciation School August 10-17
On Sunday Evenings August 10-17, Megen Wood will be leading a Music Appreciation Class during the Discipleship Training and Family Ministry hour. Please plan to attend! This class is intended for the whole congregation,
to help us learn a few basics that will greatly enhance our worship time and our ability to further glorify God through music. If you belong to Jesus, it matters not who you are, nor the level of your talent, a day is coming when we all will sing a New Song! Why not get a head start with this class.
HELP! Nursery Workers Needed!!!!
EVERY SUNDAY AM --
The Cartecay Baptist Church Nursery Program is offered every Sunday during Sunday School and Worship. We welcome infants, toddlers, and their parents to the Nursery every Sunday morning. The Nursery provides a safe and warm environment for our youngest children. Children are special to Jesus and they should be to us as we follow Jesus. We serve Him by serving others, especially the most vulnerable among us.
Serving as a Nursery Worker is a unique, blessed, and sacrificial opportunity to help promulgate the Gospel by freeing parents to attend services and adult education programs in our church. The more men, women and older youth we have who sign-up for a regular time of service will reduce the frequency for all. Will you please enlist?
There is a Nursery Volunteer Sheet on the Table in front of the Sound Room where you can sign up. [WWJD]
